After suffering a seven-on-four beatdown at the hands of the newly formed League of Nations, which consists of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, King Barrett, Rusev, & United States Champion Alberto Del Rio, along with WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day, SmackDown would kick off with Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, & The Usos in the ring. Roman tells The Usos that they’re more like “brothers” than cousins before telling Dean Ambrose that they’ve traveled the world together and they’ve been through some memorable fights and that’s why he considers Ambrose his “brother”. Roman then says that The League of Nations cannot help Sheamus at WWE TLC, saying that he will take back what is his and that is the WWE World Heavyweight Championship before saying that he doesn’t feel like waiting for a fight, calling out Sheamus and The League of Nations! The League of Nations would answer the call as WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, King Barrett, Rusev, & United States Champion Alberto Del Rio come out to the stage as Sheamus says that he enjoyed hearing Reigns talk about his family, saying that he’s a “big admirer” of Roman Reigns. Sheamus continues, saying that Roman had a “great night” at Survivor Series, saying that Roman only held the title for five minutes and fifteen seconds, but at least he got a new t-shirt out of it. Not in the mood for jokes, Roman Reigns dares Sheamus to come to the ring and fight.

The champion responds by saying that he came out there to “extend the olive branch” and try to make peace with Roman, but since Roman doesn’t want to be their “friend”, they were granted a match pitting The League of Nations against Reigns, Ambrose, & The Usos in an 8-Man Tag match. This brings out WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day, who continue to rub in Roman’s brief title reign at Survivor Series, calling Roman a “ruiner” before The Usos dare The New Day to come fight them. Xavier Woods then reveals that Dean Ambrose and The Usos have to “earn” the right to be Roman’s tag team partners in the main event, saying that Ambrose and The Usos will have to beat the members of The New Day to earn their spots in the main event and, if Ambrose and The Usos fail to beat The New Day, then Roman will have to face The League of Nations on his own.

In a match that would drastically alter the main event of SmackDown, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose would team with The Usos to face WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day in a 6-Man Tag match and, if Ambrose & The Usos win, then they will join Roman Reigns in the main event, but if they lose, then Reigns will have to go it alone against The League of Nations! During the match, Jimmy Uso would appear to tweak his injured knee and The New Day was quick to take advantage as Xavier Woods hits a running knee to the face of Jimmy, pinning Jimmy to pick up the win for the WWE Tag Team Champions and, as a result, Roman Reigns will have to face all four members of The League of Nations by himself.

Roman Reigns vs League of Nations:

Then it was time for the main event as Roman Reigns would be forced to go it alone against all four members of The League of Nations, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, King Barrett, Rusev, & United States Champion Alberto Del Rio in a 4-on-1 Handicap Match with Dean Ambrose & The Usos banned from ringside. Early on in the match, King Barrett would repeatedly find himself arguing with the referee and, as a result, the referee would make the bold call to kick Barrett out of the match, ejecting Barrett to the backstage area! During a wild match, Roman Reigns would find himself on the outside with the three remaining members of the League of Nations as Roman would toss Rusev over the ringside barricade and toss Alberto Del Rio over the announce table, barely making it back into the ring before the referee’s ten-count as Roman picks up the win by count-out. After the match, King Barrett would come out to ringside, distracting Roman Reigns long enough for Sheamus to hit Reigns with the Brogue Kick. As the League of Nations looks to beat down Roman, Dean Ambrose & The Usos make the save, clearing the ring of the League of Nations before helping Roman Reigns to his feet as Reigns, Ambrose, & The Usos stand tall in the ring.

Tonight’s WWE RAW from Pittsburgh opens with Michael Cole, JBL and Byron Saxtonon commentary. We go right to the ring as WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day make their way out. Confetti falls from the rafters as they make their way out. The ring has a red apron cover. They’re having a celebration, a gala, a jubilee tonight. Big E talks about a new era and they introduce WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. Sheamus comes out in a suit as more confetti falls and The New Day celebrates his title win. Sheamus thanks them for the introduction and the “you look stupid” chants start. Sheamus says the only ones that look stupid tonight are the fans. Sheamus gives props to The New Day and thanks The Authority. Sheamus also wants to thank Roman Reigns for the opportunity. Some fans boo his name. They make jokes on Reigns’ short 5 minutes and 15 second title reign. They pose and dance together as Xavier Woods plays the trombone. They go on joking around and Sheamus says we can forget about Austin 3:16 because Sheamus 5:15 says he just whooped your ass. Sheamus laughs as his music hits and a bunch of pyro goes off. Sheamus turns around from posing on the turnbuckle and gets hit with a big Superman punch by Reigns. Reigns picks up the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt and leaves with it as his music hits and Sheamus recovers in the ring. Reigns raises the title on the stage and laughs at Sheamus as we go to commercial.

They wish Reigns good luck and walk off. Stephanie stops and says in order for him to win the title, he has to beat Sheamus within 5 minutes and 15 seconds.

We see Triple H backstage texting someone when Dean Ambrose walks up. Triple H wanted to see him to congratulate him on becoming #1 contender to the WWE Intercontinental Title, earning a shot at TLC. Ambrose is skeptical that’s it. Triple H says if Reigns doesn’t beat Sheamus in 5 minutes and 15 seconds tonight, Ambrose will lose his TLC title shot. Triple H says Reigns needs to realize that the choices he makes also affect his friends.

Roman Reigns opens up SmackDown. He makes his way out to the ring which has a Table, Ladder and Chair in it. When Roman was a little kid, he and The Usos used to wrestle all over the house to the point where one of The Usos broke one of the tables and they all got a lifetime ban from wrestling in the house. They continued to wrestle outside. They wrestled at the beach and the pool. Their favorite spot was the trampoline. They imagined that they could win the WWE Championship one day. It felt like a dream until Sunday when he won the WWE Championship. The dream got shattered when Sheamus crushed his face with a Brogue Kick. Sheamus makes his way onto the stage. Sheamus tells Reigns that he needs to get over this fella. Reigns is like a talking Adele song and that is not a good thing. You were WWE Champion for Five Minutes and Fifteen Seconds. That was days ago. You have been talking about being World Champion longer than you were WWE Champion. Sheamus says he has been in elevators longer than Reigns was champion. He couldn’t reheat a frozen burrito in the time that you were champion. Sheamus says if he started reading a book when you became champion, he wouldn’t have been able to finish the first page by the time it ended. Sheamus tells Reigns to get over it because everyone agrees that this looks so much better on him. Sheamus says he is having a bit of fun. He wants to know how great this is now. He tells everyone to suck it in. Sheamus says he is not here to bust Reigns chops. Reigns had a grueling match against Alberto Del Rio. Then he had a match with his best friend Dean Ambrose and they beat the hell out of each other. After two intense matches, he did it. Reigns became the WWE World Champion. There was confetti from the ceiling and pyro was going off.

Sheamus says he is out of breath at how excited he was for Reigns. Rather than shake the hand of the man who gave him that opportunity, Reigns speared Triple H out of his shoes. Sheamus says he Brogue Kicked Reigns to hell, took the title belt out of your hands, stabbed you in the heart, and shattered your dreams. How good that felt to be the new WWE World Champion? Reigns tells Sheamus that he can stand out there and continue to look stupid or he can come down to the ring and show the world what he can do to you in under five minutes. Sheamus asks Reigns if that is what he wants? Reigns asks Indianapolis if that is what you want. Sheamus says not a chance. That is the difference between Reigns and Sheamus. Reigns wants to run down and fight he doesn’t think things through. That is why Reigns is not the champion. All Reigns had to do was shake Triple H’s hand. Sheamus is smart he bides his time and he takes his opportunities and that is why he has this and all Reigns has is broken dreams. Sheamus tells Reigns that he will see him in his nightmares fella. Reigns says that he wants to talk about Sheamus nightmare and a sneak peak of what will happen at TLC. He will break Sheamus jaw with a Superman Punch. He has three words for Sheamus “Tables, Ladders, and Chairs.” The first thing he is going to do is fold this thing up and try to break your back with it. When he is done with that, he is going to scoop Sheamus up and power bomb him through a table. Then when Sheamus can’t get up, he is going to climb the ladder and claim what is his, the WWE Championship. Reigns tells Sheamus that he better believe that.
