Triple Threat for the WWE Title: Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose

We go to the ring and out first comes Seth Rollins to a big pop. Out next comes Roman Reigns, making his return to WWE TV from his Wellness Policy suspension. WWE Champion Dean Ambrose is out next to a pop. We get formal ring introductions from JoJo.

The bell rings and a big “Roman sucks” chant starts. Rollins laughs. He suggests they meet in the middle of the ring for a Shield-style fist bump. Reigns drives Rollins out of the ring with a shoulder. Rollins runs around and Ambrose stops him from re-entering. Reigns sends Rollins into the barrier and back in. Rollins ducks Ambrose but Reigns clotheslines him to the floor. Ambrose rolls Reigns up from behind for a 2 count. They face off now. More back and forth now. Reigns ends up doing the same thing, rolling Ambrose up from behind. Ambrose goes for Dirty Deeds but Reigns blocks it and they trade shots in the middle of the ring.

Rollins comes back in and unloads on Reigns with stomps in the corner. Reigns runs into a Rollins boot. Rollins comes off the ropes but Reigns catches him. Ambrose dropkicks them both and covers Reigns for a quick attempt. Reigns works Ambrose over in the corner now. Ambrose turns it around and goes cray with punches and kicks. Rollins pulls Ambrose off and drops his back over the knee. Rollins sends Reigns to the floor and covers Ambrose for a 2 count. Rollins keeps control of Ambrose now. Ambrose tries to come back but Rollins drops his face into the middle turnbuckle. Reigns with a Drive By on Rollins out of nowhere. Reigns sends Rollins into the apron and the barricade. Ambrose leaps out to the floor and takes Reigns down. Rollins with a knee to Ambrose’s face from the apron.

Rollins launches Ambrose into the steel steps and Reigns into the barrier. Rollins charges but Reigns dumps him into the timekeeper’s area. Ambrose runs across the announce tables and lands on both opponents. Ambrose brings Reigns back over the barrier and they go into the ring. Ambrose comes off the top with a missile dropkick on Reigns. Ambrose charges in the corner and then hits the running bulldog. Ambrose goes to the top for a big elbow drop for a 2 count. Rollins with a Frogsplash on Ambrose out of nowhere for a 2 count. Rollins goes for a Pedigree on Reigns but it’s blocked. Rollins tries to roll Reigns up but Reigns picks him up and drops him with rights. Reigns with big shots in the corner as fans boo. Ambrose runs into a Reigns clothesline. Reigns with a tilt-a-whirl slam on Rollins. Reigns floors Ambrose with a Superman punch and then one for Rollins. Reigns stands tall and fans boo. Reigns readies for a spear but Ambrose and Rollins avoid it. This leads to all three men getting knocked down in the middle of the ring.

They get up and continue trading shots. Fans cheer as Reigns gets double teamed. They drop Reigns and a “yes!” chant starts. They go for a Shield-style powerbomb but Reigns fights out. Reigns gets sent to the floor in front of the announcers. Ambrose runs the ropes and nails a big dive. Rollins runs the ropes and leaps out onto Reigns as well. We see the RAW locker room and SmackDown locker room watching backstage. Ambrose and Rollins take apart the Spanish announce table. They go to powerbomb Reigns through the table and they hit it to a big pop. Rollins grabs a steel chair and smacks Ambrose over the back with it. Rollins with a chair shot to the back of Reigns now.
Ambrose blocks a Pedigree and a turnbuckle powerbomb in the ring. Ambrose goes to the top but Rollins cuts him off with a superplex and an immediate driver for a close 2 count. Stephanie cheers Rollins on as Foley watches from behind her. Ambrose blocks a Pedigree. Rollins blocks a launch into the corner. They end up top again. Reigns runs over and powerbombs Ambrose to the mat. Reigns kicks Rollins as he jumps off the top. Reigns with a sitdown powerbomb on Rollins for a close 2 count. Ambrose blocks a Superman punch. Reigns blocks Dirty Deeds. Reigns goes for a Razor’s Edge but Ambrose rolls him up for 2. Reigns with a right and a Superman punch. Ambrose goes to the floor. Rollins with a Pedigree on Reigns for a very close 2 count. Reigns blocks another Pedigree attempt but Rollins powerbombs him into the corner. Reigns comes right back with a Superman punch and a spear. Reigns goes for the pin but Ambrose runs in and hits Dirty Deeds on him for the win.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

After the match, Ambrose celebrates with the WWE Title. The SmackDown roster, including John Cena, comes to the ring to celebrate with Ambrose, Bryan and Shane. Foley and Stephanie watch from ringside and don’t look happy. The Usos lift Ambrose up on their shoulders and the celebration continues as Battleground goes off the air.

We go to the ring and out comes new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose.

Ambrose hits the ring as we see stills of how he won the title at Money In the Bank last night. The music finally stops and Ambrose takes it all in. Fans chant “you deserve it” now. Ambrose talks about how he had a wild night in Las Vegas last night. He brings up Seth Rollins and says he was just the right guy at the right place at the wrong time. Ambrose goes on and says it was all worth it because hard times are no more. He’s interrupted by the music and out comes Roman Reigns to mostly boos.

Reigns says last night wasn’t his night because it was Dean’s. He congratulates Ambrose and says he’s happy for him. Reigns asks how good it felt to cash in on Seth. Ambrose says he would’ve cashed in on Reigns too. The “you can’t wrestle” chants start up. Reigns tells all the men chanting that to relax, take a sip of their beer and shut up. Reigns asks Ambrose is he’s a fighting champ. Seth Rollins interrupts next and here he comes upset.

They all have words and it looks like we’re about to get a fight until Shane McMahon comes out to the stage to a pop. He congratulates Ambrose on both wins last night. Shane says we should have Reigns vs. Rollins to determine a new #1 contender. Shane says Stephanie isn’t here tonight and he’s running the show. Reigns vs. Rollins will take place tonight. The former Shield members face off in the ring before Rollins leaves first.

Mid-show, Roman Reigns is backstage with JoJo and he’s confident going into the main event.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

We go to the ring and out comes WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose to join the announcers for commentary. Back to commercial.

We come back and Ambrose is on commentary as Seth Rollins makes his way out. The winner of this match will face Ambrose for the title at the July 24th Battleground pay-per-view. Roman Reigns is out next.

Reigns immediately nails a shoulder and goes to work on Rollins. A “you can’t wrestle” chant starts. Rollins manages to retreat to the floor and pulls Reigns out. They go at it and Reigns launches Rollins into the barrier. Reigns slams Rollins into the announce table a few times and then takes the table apart. They come back in and Reigns hits a neckbreaker for a close pin attempt. Rollins turns it around with a neckbreaker for a 2 count.

Rollins keeps on and hits a dropkick to the face for 2. Rollins keeps control and beats Reigns around the ringside area. Rollins brings it back in but Reigns fights back. Rollins with a clothesline. We end up going to commercial with Rollins down on the floor.

Back from the break and Rollins applies a sleeper hold in the middle of the ring. It’s broken and Reigns nails a big right hand. Reigns unloads on Rollins and the referee pulls him off. Rollins ends up nailing an enziguri. They both trade big rights and headbutts in the middle of the ring now. They run the ropes and Reigns nails a big clothesline. Reigns with more in the corner. Rollins ends up shoving Reigns out to the floor. Rollins runs thr ropes and sends Reigns into the barrier. Rollins brings it back in with the running forearms in thr corners. Reigns catches him in a Samoan Drop. They trade reversals. Reigns with a roll up for 2. Reigns with a sitdown powerbomb for 2.

They trade and block finishers but Reigns knocks Rollins put of mid=air with a Superman punch. Reigns readies for a spear but Rollins kicks him in the head. Reigns takes him to the corner and knocks him go the apron. More close calls by Rollins. Rollins misses the Frogsplash. Reigns hits the Drive By from the floor. Reigns takes apart the the other announce table and takes Rollins on top of it. Rollins scrambles off and nails an enziguri on Rollins. They both end up on the other side pf the announce table as the referee counts. They try to make it back in but the referee calls for the bell and they make it in too late. Lilian announces that there is no winner. Shane’s music hits and says we need a #1 contender. Dean is in the ring now. He tells Shane he will fight them both in the same night. Shane makes the Triple Threat for the WWE World Heavyweight Title as the Battleground main event. Shane’s music hits and he leaves as Reigns and Rollins recover. Ambrose taunts them both with the title. Ambrose drops Dirty Deeds on Reigns and leaves the ring as his music hits. Rollins looks on. Rollins grabs Reigns but Ambrose runs back down and drops Rollins with Dirty Deeds. Ambrose stands tall on the announce table with his title and then goes back in the ring as RAW goes off the air.

WWE World Heavyweight Title Match: Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins

Out first comes Seth Rollins to a pop. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reignsmakes his way out. We then get formal ring introductions from Lilian.

Slow to start with some stalling. They trade shoulders and hit a big dropkick. Rollins sends Reigns out and nails a dive through the ropes. Rollins brings it back in and hits a pair of running forearms in the corner. Reigns with a Samoan Drop. More back and forth. Reigns with another close 2 count. Reigns comes off the ropes and drops Rollins. Reigns talks trash and beats Rollins around in the corner.

More back and forth as Reigns gets upset. They end up on the floor and Rollins goes over the announce table. Reigns goes back and takes apart the table but Rollins rolls back in. Reigns continues controlling Rollins and slams him into the apron. Rollins sends Reigns into the steel steps. They come back in and Reigns hits a big Razor’s Edge into a powerbomb for a 2 count. Rollins blocks a Superman punch and sends him into the turnbuckle. Rollins ends up dropkicking Reigns to the floor. Rollins runs and dives to the floor, sending Reigns to the barrier. Rollins goes for another crazy dive and hits it. Rollins brings it back in and hits Slingblade for a 2 count. Rollins springboards in but Reigns ducks. Rollins blocks Superman punch. Reigns blocks Pedigree. Reigns hits another Superman but Rollins kicks out at 2. Rollins blocks a spear with a knee. Rollins with a kick from the apron. Rollins springboards in with a knee to the head. Rollins goes to the top and hits a frogsplash for a close 2 count. Rollins goes up and Reigns rocks him. They trade holds and reversals in the corner. Rollins with a corner powebomb and a big kick to the face but Reigns still kicks out at 2. Rollins with several charging forearms in the corner. Rollins goes up but Reigns pushes him to the mat. Rollins climbs back up but Reigns sends him back down. Rollins runs back up for a superplex. He holds it for the Falcon’s Arrow for a 2 count. Reigns fights off a Pedigree. Reigns with a huge right hand. Reigns ducks a kick and rolls him up. Reigns with a powerbomb for 2. They finally get up trading shots. Reigns drops Rollins. More brawling. Reigns comes out of a corner powerbomb with a big Superman punch for a 2 count.

Reigns goes for a spear on the floor but Rollins moves and Reigns crashes into the barrier. Officials and a trainer come out to to check on Reigns as he stumbles to his feet. Rollins runs over and brings him in the ring anyway. Rollins goes for a Pedigree but Reigns rams him into the referee. Reigns nails a spear and covers for the win but the referee is slow to get up and Rollins kicks out at 2. Reigns goes for another spear but Rollins catches him in a Pedigree for a close 2 count. Rollins ends up getting the win and the title.

After the match, Rollins celebrates until Dean Ambrose’s music hits.

We go to the ring and out comes Dean Ambrose for another edition of The Ambrose Asylum.

Ambrose brings out his first guest Seth Rollins, and then WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns right after. The former Shield partners meet in the middle of the ring. Rollins and Reigns stare each other down. Ambrose says this is fun. He asks Rollins how his knee is doing. Rollins asks Ambrose if he’s watched the WWE 24 special. Rollins says his knee is 100% ready to go. Ambrose asks how Rollins’ face is doing because it’s hurting him. Reigns laughs at the joke. Ambrose and Reigns have some friendly banter. Ambrose tries to get Rollins to lighten up some. Rollins finally admits his best times in the ring came with Ambrose and Reigns. He talks about some of their six-man matches and how they sent Batista packing to Hollywood. A “Blue-tista” chant tries to start up. Rollins goes on and says the best time he had in the ring with them… was when he put a steel chair in their backs. Rollins also brags on cashing in at WrestleMania.

Ambrose tries to keep Reigns calm and asks about Money In the Bank. Reigns says he will walk in with the title and leave with the title. Rollins goes on and says Reigns hasn’t done one thing – beat him, because he can’t. Rollins says they are a lot alike but there’s one difference – Reigns wouldn’t be where he was if it wasn’t for Rollins. Rollins says everything he accomplished, he did on his own, unlike Reigns. Rollins says he’s taking back the title he never lost on Sunday. Ambrose teases that he may win the Money In the Bank briefcase, then cash in on Rollins or Reigns to leave with the title. Ambrose drops the mic and his music hits to end it. Rollins shoves Ambrose into Reigns, sending him to the floor. Ambrose unloads on Rollins. Reigns comes back in and pulls him off. Rollins misses a Pedigree and takes a Superman punch. Ambrose drops Reigns with Dirty Deeds. Ambrose stands tall and looks up at the briefcase as his music hits.

We go right to the ring and out comes Seth Rollins to a big pop.

Rollins hits the ring and takes it all in before speaking. A “welcome back” chant starts up. Rollins says he’s been waiting 200 days to get back in his ring once again. Rollins says he’s back and he’s waited for months to take back the title he never lost. Rollins says he fired the first shot at Extreme Rules and shows us on the big screen. A “thank you Rollins” chant starts. Rollins asks if they missed him and they pop again. A “yes!” chant starts now. Rollins brings up how fans booed him every time he stepped in the ring after breaking up The Shield, how they called him the weakest WWE World Heavyweight Champion of all time. Rollins says fans were begging for someone to take the title from him, they called him a coward who hid behind The Authority. Then something profound happened, Rollins’ knee buckled under the weight of carrying the company on his back for so long. Rollins says he started getting get well tweets and comments, flowers in the hospital, so much fan mail he didn’t know what to do with it. Rollins says he didn’t open a single letter, he put the crap in a garbage can and lit it on fire. Some fans boo, some cheer. Rollins says he doesn’t need the fans and never did.

He says there’s only room for one person on his bandwagon – Seth Rollins. Rollins goes on and says it doesn’t matter if fans boo or cheer him because he’s back for one thing – the title he never lost. Rollins says he didn’t come back for the fans… the music interrupts and out comes WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. Rollins takes off his jacket.

Reigns makes his way down and enters the ring but Rollins leaves. Rollins rants around ringside about this being his time and his show. Reigns mouths back at him. The music hits and out comes Shane McMahon. Shane enters the ring with Reigns and invites Rollins back in. Rollins hesitates but comes back in. Shane says he thinks they all can have an adult conversation. A “you still got it” chant breaks out. Shane understands Rollins is back fro the title and says Reigns can understand that too. Shane announces Reigns vs. Rollins for the title at Money In the Bank next month.
