WWE United States Title Match: Roman Reigns vs. Rusev

We go to the ring and Lana introduces her husband. WWE United States Champion Rusev makes his way out. Roman Reigns is out next.

They go at it to start. Reigns tries for an early Samoan Drop. Rusev goes to the floor for a breather. They come back in and Rusev takes control. Rusev with a kick. Rusev mounts Reigns with strikes. Rusev keeps control and beats Reigns around as fans do dueling chants for Reigns. Rusev with knees as Lana looks on. Reigns looks to make a comeback but Rusev sends him into the corner and to the floor. They trade shots on the floor and seem to lose the crowd even more. Reigns gets launched in to both sets of steps. Rusev brings it back in for a 2 count, and another.

Rusev keeps control and drops a headbutt. Rusev runs into a boot but drops Reigns. Reigns dodges another flying headbutt attempt. Reigns with a Samoan Drop for a 2 count. Reigns unloads with big shots in the corner before clotheslining Rusev over the top. Reigns follows and sends Rusev into the barrier. Reigns sends Rusev face first into the steps. Reigns brings it back in and readies for the Superman punch but Rusev blocks it. Rusev with right hands.

More back and forth and another 2 count by Rusev after a superkick. Rusev stomps and charges but Reigns nails a Superman punch for a close 2 count. Lana distracts Reigns from the apron, allowing Rusev to nail a superkick for a 2 count. Rusev throws a fit and yells at the referee. Rusev stomps on Reigns a few times and goes for The Accolade. Reigns fights it off and hits the spear for the close 2 count as Lana pulls the referee out. The referee yells at her and sends her to the back.

Reigns with a roll up for 2. They go on and Reigns hits a pair of Drive Bys outside of the ring. Reigns brings it back in the ring and waits as some fans boo. Reigns runs into a big kick for a close 2 count by Rusev. Rusev goes right into The Accolade and gets it locked. Reigns powers up with Rusev on his back. Rusev with a shot to the eyes. Rusev charges but Reigns nails a spear for the win.

Winner and New WWE United States Champion: Roman Reigns

After the match, Reigns is handed the title while still on his knees. He clutches the title and gets to his feet as we go to replays.

Triple Threat for the WWE Title: Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose

We go to the ring and out first comes Seth Rollins to a big pop. Out next comes Roman Reigns, making his return to WWE TV from his Wellness Policy suspension. WWE Champion Dean Ambrose is out next to a pop. We get formal ring introductions from JoJo.

The bell rings and a big “Roman sucks” chant starts. Rollins laughs. He suggests they meet in the middle of the ring for a Shield-style fist bump. Reigns drives Rollins out of the ring with a shoulder. Rollins runs around and Ambrose stops him from re-entering. Reigns sends Rollins into the barrier and back in. Rollins ducks Ambrose but Reigns clotheslines him to the floor. Ambrose rolls Reigns up from behind for a 2 count. They face off now. More back and forth now. Reigns ends up doing the same thing, rolling Ambrose up from behind. Ambrose goes for Dirty Deeds but Reigns blocks it and they trade shots in the middle of the ring.

Rollins comes back in and unloads on Reigns with stomps in the corner. Reigns runs into a Rollins boot. Rollins comes off the ropes but Reigns catches him. Ambrose dropkicks them both and covers Reigns for a quick attempt. Reigns works Ambrose over in the corner now. Ambrose turns it around and goes cray with punches and kicks. Rollins pulls Ambrose off and drops his back over the knee. Rollins sends Reigns to the floor and covers Ambrose for a 2 count. Rollins keeps control of Ambrose now. Ambrose tries to come back but Rollins drops his face into the middle turnbuckle. Reigns with a Drive By on Rollins out of nowhere. Reigns sends Rollins into the apron and the barricade. Ambrose leaps out to the floor and takes Reigns down. Rollins with a knee to Ambrose’s face from the apron.

Rollins launches Ambrose into the steel steps and Reigns into the barrier. Rollins charges but Reigns dumps him into the timekeeper’s area. Ambrose runs across the announce tables and lands on both opponents. Ambrose brings Reigns back over the barrier and they go into the ring. Ambrose comes off the top with a missile dropkick on Reigns. Ambrose charges in the corner and then hits the running bulldog. Ambrose goes to the top for a big elbow drop for a 2 count. Rollins with a Frogsplash on Ambrose out of nowhere for a 2 count. Rollins goes for a Pedigree on Reigns but it’s blocked. Rollins tries to roll Reigns up but Reigns picks him up and drops him with rights. Reigns with big shots in the corner as fans boo. Ambrose runs into a Reigns clothesline. Reigns with a tilt-a-whirl slam on Rollins. Reigns floors Ambrose with a Superman punch and then one for Rollins. Reigns stands tall and fans boo. Reigns readies for a spear but Ambrose and Rollins avoid it. This leads to all three men getting knocked down in the middle of the ring.

They get up and continue trading shots. Fans cheer as Reigns gets double teamed. They drop Reigns and a “yes!” chant starts. They go for a Shield-style powerbomb but Reigns fights out. Reigns gets sent to the floor in front of the announcers. Ambrose runs the ropes and nails a big dive. Rollins runs the ropes and leaps out onto Reigns as well. We see the RAW locker room and SmackDown locker room watching backstage. Ambrose and Rollins take apart the Spanish announce table. They go to powerbomb Reigns through the table and they hit it to a big pop. Rollins grabs a steel chair and smacks Ambrose over the back with it. Rollins with a chair shot to the back of Reigns now.
Ambrose blocks a Pedigree and a turnbuckle powerbomb in the ring. Ambrose goes to the top but Rollins cuts him off with a superplex and an immediate driver for a close 2 count. Stephanie cheers Rollins on as Foley watches from behind her. Ambrose blocks a Pedigree. Rollins blocks a launch into the corner. They end up top again. Reigns runs over and powerbombs Ambrose to the mat. Reigns kicks Rollins as he jumps off the top. Reigns with a sitdown powerbomb on Rollins for a close 2 count. Ambrose blocks a Superman punch. Reigns blocks Dirty Deeds. Reigns goes for a Razor’s Edge but Ambrose rolls him up for 2. Reigns with a right and a Superman punch. Ambrose goes to the floor. Rollins with a Pedigree on Reigns for a very close 2 count. Reigns blocks another Pedigree attempt but Rollins powerbombs him into the corner. Reigns comes right back with a Superman punch and a spear. Reigns goes for the pin but Ambrose runs in and hits Dirty Deeds on him for the win.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

After the match, Ambrose celebrates with the WWE Title. The SmackDown roster, including John Cena, comes to the ring to celebrate with Ambrose, Bryan and Shane. Foley and Stephanie watch from ringside and don’t look happy. The Usos lift Ambrose up on their shoulders and the celebration continues as Battleground goes off the air.

WWE World Heavyweight Title Match: Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins

Out first comes Seth Rollins to a pop. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reignsmakes his way out. We then get formal ring introductions from Lilian.

Slow to start with some stalling. They trade shoulders and hit a big dropkick. Rollins sends Reigns out and nails a dive through the ropes. Rollins brings it back in and hits a pair of running forearms in the corner. Reigns with a Samoan Drop. More back and forth. Reigns with another close 2 count. Reigns comes off the ropes and drops Rollins. Reigns talks trash and beats Rollins around in the corner.

More back and forth as Reigns gets upset. They end up on the floor and Rollins goes over the announce table. Reigns goes back and takes apart the table but Rollins rolls back in. Reigns continues controlling Rollins and slams him into the apron. Rollins sends Reigns into the steel steps. They come back in and Reigns hits a big Razor’s Edge into a powerbomb for a 2 count. Rollins blocks a Superman punch and sends him into the turnbuckle. Rollins ends up dropkicking Reigns to the floor. Rollins runs and dives to the floor, sending Reigns to the barrier. Rollins goes for another crazy dive and hits it. Rollins brings it back in and hits Slingblade for a 2 count. Rollins springboards in but Reigns ducks. Rollins blocks Superman punch. Reigns blocks Pedigree. Reigns hits another Superman but Rollins kicks out at 2. Rollins blocks a spear with a knee. Rollins with a kick from the apron. Rollins springboards in with a knee to the head. Rollins goes to the top and hits a frogsplash for a close 2 count. Rollins goes up and Reigns rocks him. They trade holds and reversals in the corner. Rollins with a corner powebomb and a big kick to the face but Reigns still kicks out at 2. Rollins with several charging forearms in the corner. Rollins goes up but Reigns pushes him to the mat. Rollins climbs back up but Reigns sends him back down. Rollins runs back up for a superplex. He holds it for the Falcon’s Arrow for a 2 count. Reigns fights off a Pedigree. Reigns with a huge right hand. Reigns ducks a kick and rolls him up. Reigns with a powerbomb for 2. They finally get up trading shots. Reigns drops Rollins. More brawling. Reigns comes out of a corner powerbomb with a big Superman punch for a 2 count.

Reigns goes for a spear on the floor but Rollins moves and Reigns crashes into the barrier. Officials and a trainer come out to to check on Reigns as he stumbles to his feet. Rollins runs over and brings him in the ring anyway. Rollins goes for a Pedigree but Reigns rams him into the referee. Reigns nails a spear and covers for the win but the referee is slow to get up and Rollins kicks out at 2. Reigns goes for another spear but Rollins catches him in a Pedigree for a close 2 count. Rollins ends up getting the win and the title.

After the match, Rollins celebrates until Dean Ambrose’s music hits.

Extreme Rules Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title: Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles

We go to the ring and out comes AJ Styles to a big pop. Fans start booing as they wait on Roman Reigns to come out. They get louder as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion makes his way out and raises the title.

We get formal introductions from Lilian. The bell rings and they lock up. Reigns tries to overpower first but Styles uses his speed. Styles ducks a lock up but Reigns elbows him in the nose. Fans chant “you can’t wrestle” as they trade holds. AJ with strikes in the corner until Reigns catches a kick and puts him down. Reigns with big blows in the corner. The boos continue. Reigns misses a right hand as AJ fires back. AJ charges and Reigns nails a jumping knee to the face. Reigns falls down and AJ rolls to the floor for a breather. AJ grabs a steel chair but turns around to Reigns dropping him with a right. Reigns rolls AJ back in and brings the chair.

They end up on the floor and Reigns misses a chair shot, hitting the steel steps instead as Styles moves. Styles beats Reigns around on the floor now. AJ slams Reigns’ head into the German announce team. Styles takes apart the Spanish announce table but stops and sends Reigns over the barrier into the crowd. AJ beats Reigns through the crowd but Reigns fights back. They fight over to the pre-show panel now. Reigns slams AJ on top of the glass table but it doesn’t break. Fans chant “Roman sucks” now. AJ with a big kick to the face. Styles nails a Phenomenal Forearm off the table.

They fight back to the ring and Reigns goes face first into the steel post. Styles removes a part of the protective padding on the barrier and sends Reigns into it. Styles pulls up part of the floor padding and exposes the concrete now. AJ goes for a Styles Clash on the concrete but Reigns breaks it and nails a big right hand to boos. Reigns sends Styles into the steps. AJ comes back and unloads on Reigns. Styles picks Reigns up on top of the German announce table and calls for a Styles Clash. Reigns blocks it and nails a right hand, knocking Styles onto the barrier. He falls to the floor on the other side with the crowd. Styles jumps up on the barrier and runs onto the announce table but Reigns backdrops him, launching him onto the Spanish announce table. AJ crashes through the table. Fans chant “you still suck” at Reigns.

Reigns brings it back in for a 2 count. Reigns hits a Razor’s Edge into a sitdown powerbomb for another close 2 count. Reigns calls for a Superman punch but AJ blocks it with a tackle and sends Reigns to the mat. Reigns clutches his knee as it buckled. Reigns sends AJ to the corner with a thrust. AJ gets a knee up and suplexes Reigns into the turnbuckles. AJ with a knee to the face from the apron as Reigns is on the floor. AJ jumps off the apron but Reigns catches him and launches him head first into the barrier. Reigns picks AJ up again and sends him flying through the main announce table with a big powerbomb.

Reigns waits for AJ to get up. Reigns calls for a spear but AJ moves and Reigns hits the barrier and the table debris. AJ brings Reigns back in the ring but is slow to follow. Fans do dueling chants as AJ gets up to the apron. AJ jumps on the top rope for a springboard but Reigns immediately nails a Superman punch. AJ falls, hits the apron and then the floor. A referee checks on AJ. Reigns limps out of the ring. Reigns nails a spear when AJ gets up. Reigns brings AJ back in the ring but here comes Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. They beat Reigns down.

Reigns takes a Boot of Doom and they put AJ on top of him for the pin. Reigns kicks out just in time. The Club grabs steel chairs but The Usos run down with superkicks. Styles takes a superkick too. Uso nails a big splash on Styles and nudges Reigns. Reigns covers but AJ kicks out at 2. Anderson and Gallows nail The Usos on the floor. Reigns hits them both with Superman punches, in the ring and on the apron. Fans boo as Reigns readies for a spear. AJ blocks it with a kick. AJ goes for the Styles Clash and nails it for a close 2 count. Styles goes for a Clash on the steel chair but Reigns counters and drops AJ on the chair. Fans boo some more. Styles blocks a Superman punch with a pele kick. Styles hits the Clash on a chair but Uso appears at the apron and stops the pin. AJ covers for a close 2 count. Styles unloads with chair shots on Reigns. The Usos run in but AJ unloads on them with chairs too. AJ goes crazy with chair shots on all three. Fans cheer and AJ tosses the chair out of the ring. The Usos are on the floor. AJ takes his pad off and springboards in for a Phenomenal Forearm but Reigns spears him in mid-air for the win.

Winner: Roman Reigns

– After the match, there’s a mixed reaction for Reigns as we go to replays. We come back to Reigns in the ring with his title. The referee raises his hand as fans boo. Seth Rollins runs out to a huge pop and grabs Reigns from behind for a Pedigree. The crowd goes nuts as Rollins lays Reigns out. Rollins picks up the WWE World Heavyweight Title and looks at it. Rollins raises up the title as fans cheer. Extreme Rules goes off the air with Rollins standing over Reigns.

WWE World Heavyweight Title Match: Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles

We go to the ring and out comes AJ Styles to a pop. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is out to huge heat. We get formal ring introductions as the Reigns heat continues. The bell rings and fans chant for AJ. They lock up and Reigns shoves AJ into the corner.

Reigns with some overpowering to start but Styles counters. They go to lock up again as fans chant for AJ. Styles with kicks to Reigns’ legs. Styles works on the arm now. Reigns goes to the floor for a breather and takes his time coming back in. Some fans chant “Roman sucks” as he comes back in. Reigns tries to take it to the corner but AJ escapes and nails a forearm. AJ goes to the floor and tells Reigns to bring it. AJ rolls right back in and Reigns has to follow. AJ stomps away as Reigns comes back in. Reigns ends up hitting a big shoulder that knocks AJ out of the ring. More big boos from the crowd.

Styles comes back in and goes for the leg but Reigns knocks him down. Reigns with another big blow to the back of the neck. Styles staggers Reigns with a knee and a forearm. Reigns fights out of a clutch and turns AJ inside out with a big clothesline. More back and forth but my WWE Network feed goes out. We come back and Styles nails a running forearm as Reigns is on the mat. Styles with a 2 count. Styles puts Reigns on his shoulders and drops him over a knee for another 2 count. Another WWE Network pause. We come back and Styles has Reigns in the Calf Crusher. It’s broken and Reigns goes to the floor. Styles nails a Phenomenal Forearm from the ring to the floor, crashing Reigns through an announce table.

Styles makes it back in the ring but Reigns gets counted out.

Winner by Count Out: AJ Styles

– After the bell, AJ doesn’t look happy as he’s announced the winner. His music hits but is paused as Eden announces Reigns is still the champion. Shane McMahon’s music hits and out he comes to a pop. Shane says that’s not how a title match is going to end in the new era. Shane calls for the bell and says the match now has no count outs.

No Count Outs for the WWE World Heavyweight Title: AJ Styles vs. Roman Reigns

The bell rings and AJ brings Reigns back inside. He goes to the top but Reigns rolls away to the other side of the ring. AJ goes over but Reigns suckers him in. AJ unloads with forearms.

AJ nails a pele kick. He goes up top for the 450 but Reigns gets his knees up. Reigns with a 2 count. AJ comes off the second rope but Reigns nails him in mid-air. The referee calls for the bell due to what appears to be an accidental low blow from Reigns to Styles.

Winner by DQ: AJ Styles

– After the bell, AJ’s music hits and he’s announced the winner. Reigns is announced the champion still. Stephanie McMahon’s music hits and out she comes. She says as usual, Shane missed something. She announces the match to be restarted until there’s a clear winner, now it will be No DQ and No Count Out.

No DQ, No Count Outs for the WWE World Heavyweight Title: AJ Styles vs. Roman Reigns

The bell rings and they go at it. Reigns places Styles on the top rope and knocks him out of the ring with a right hand. Reigns sends him into the steps and into the Spanish announce table. Reigns with a kick into the barrier. Reigns tosses AJ over the barrier into the crowd.

Reigns follows but Styles nails a running clothesline back over the barrier. Reigns hits the announce table. AJ keeps control and brings it in the ring as fans do dueling chants. Reigns dodges a Phenomenal Forearm and nails a Superman punch in mid-air. AJ kicks out just in time. Reigns with another Superman punch as fans boo. Reigns readies for a spear but Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson pull Styles to the floor. Reigns looks at them as they hit the apron. Gallows and Anderson enter the ring and beat Reigns down. They destroy him and leave him laying. They go back to the floor and watch as AJ pulls himself to the apron. Styles goes for the Phenomenal Forearm and nails it but Reigns gets his foot on the bottom rope.

The Usos run down and brawl with Gallows and Anderson at ringside. Styles goes to the top but Reigns jumps up and pushes him off onto the other 4 men. Reigns shakes off the leg injury and tries to recover now. AJ gets up and moves to the side. Reigns runs the ropes and lands on The Usos, Gallows and Anderson outside. Styles with a big forearm off the barrier. Styles brings Reigns back in. Styles springboards in with a Shooting Star Press and nails it but Reigns kicks out right before the 3 count. Reigns blocks the Styles Clash and backdrops Styles to the apron. Reigns runs for a Superman punch but AJ nails him. AJ comes in with another Phenomenal Forearm but Reigns ducks it and nails a spear for the win as fans boo.

Winner: Roman Reigns

After the bell, both men are down as we go to replays. We come back and Reigns has the WWE World Heavyweight Title now. AJ limps towards the back and looks on as Reigns raises the title. We cut to Vince, Shane and Stephanie watching backstage. Vince says that was a really great match. He applauds Shane for restarting the match but says Stephanie one-upped him a little bit. He congratulates them both. Vince wonders if AJ should have a rematch and they agree. It will take place at Extreme Rules and will be an Extreme Rules match. We go back to the announcers & Roman Reigns in the ring to close the show.
